Achievements of Daniel Taub as Israeli Ambassador to Britain

Daniel Taub served as the Israeli ambassador to Britain for four years before resigning in the summer of 2015. Being a British born Jew, he is one of the leading diplomats in the country. However, that never changed his beliefs as an Orthodox Jew, even for once.

After resigning, Daniel went back to Israel. It is hard not to note the big roles he played in improving the relationship between the two countries. Below are some of the things that the former ambassador will always be remembered for.

Doubling of Trade between Israeli and British

Just before he quit, it was noted that the trade between Israel and UK had doubled and so were the business, cultural, and academic ties between the two nations.

During Daniel’s time, the two nations entered the “golden era” with the Israel-Britain Chambers of Commerce reporting that over three hundred Israeli business operations were set up in Britain. The report further indicated that the annual bilateral trade between the two countries reached over $5.5 billion.

Promoted Unity of the Two Countries

In 2014, the then Bradford West MP George Galloway made a controversial comment stating that Bradford was an “Israel Free Zone”. From the visit, Taub noted that the community’s view on having Israeli’s businesses and products in the constituency was different from what Galloway had said.

He went ahead to praise the people for accepting to live together in harmony regardless of their faiths and backgrounds. He also asked the people to join hands with the government in trying to create a better future for everyone instead of trying to pull everyone to the past.

About Daniel Taub

Daniel Taub was born in Britain in 1962. Before he was elected the Israeli ambassador to Britain in 2011, he was once a peace negotiator. Daniel attended Oxford University, Harvard’s Kennedy University School of Government, and London University College.

In 1989 he moved to Israel where he joined the Israel Defense Force serving as a medic and international law division reserve officer.

After leaving the force in 1991, Daniel Taub joined the Israel Foreign Ministry where he held several diplomatic and legal posts.

In 2011 he was elected the ambassador of Israeli to Britain, a post he served for four years before quitting in 2015. Today, Daniel Taub works at the Yad Hanadiv foundation where he is the Director of Strategy and Planning.

“James Larkin” the fight for fair employment.

James Larkin (Jim)is an Irish activist as well local organizer that was born in the mid 1800’s. Jim started to General Workers Union, it became the regions biggest union and Irish transport. He was born in England and grew up in the tough part of Liverpool, with very little education.

Instead, Jim had to help support family in his younger years. Working may different jobs to help out the family, he landed a position at the Liverpool dock as the foreman.

Jim believed in being treated fair, he believed many of the workers at the dock were not treated fairly. So he became a full time union organizer and joined the National Union Dock Labourers, in 1905. Where he started the Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union (ITGWU). Jim’s goal was to help all Irish industrial workers whether skilled or not skilled, they all belong in one organization.

As a part of the labor party he and his party lead a lot of series of strikes. In 1913, the lockout in Dublin had well of 100,000 on strike close to eight months. Leading him and workers to the victory of the right to fair employment.

Even though there was victory the lockout was the end of Larkin’s (ITGWU). He then set out on a lecture tour 1914, to the United States in raising funds for in fighting the British. While in the United States Jim joined the (IWW) Industrial Workers of the World and the American Socialist Party.

In 1920, Jim Larkin was convicted of criminal anarchy and communism and sent to jail. He was released three years later and was deported back to Ireland. In Ireland, Jim then organized Workers Union of Ireland and later in 1945 joined the Irish Labour.

Jim was dedicated, loyal and passionate about his beliefs for every working man. Jim Larkin work never stopped fighting for workers to be treated fairly, until January 30, 1947 where is he died in Dublin, Ireland.

A Gift To Orange Coast College

Orange Coast College is thrilled due to a donation that recently given to them. Mary McChesney, a recent professor at Orange Coast College, has donated one-million dollars to the college. This donation is given to build a new planetarium on school grounds. Mary McChesney decided to make this donation after hearing about the school’s bad financial situation. There were also rumors of the school shutting down. Mary taught at Orange Coast College for almost three decades before deciding to retire. Learn more:


The school believes this new planetarium will bring many people, young and old alike. There will be a small fee to enter the planetarium. However, visitors will be able to use the latest science technology to observe stars and other planets. There will also be teachings of the stars and planets in the form of readings, videos, and public speakers. Orange Coast College is also hoping this new planetarium will cause their attendance to rise.


Orange Coast College is a school situated in Southern California. For a while, it was known as the school for people who dropped out of USC. However, it has recently become a strong alternative to USC. This is due to the low costs for tuition. Moreover, the student counseling department does its best to get every potential student enrolled as quick as possible. This means student counselors will take every avenue possible to get each student as much money as possible.


Orange Coast College has almost 30 different majors and minors. The college is equipped with full dorms and a great medical staff. There are also many sports teams now available to join as well as dozens of other extracurricular activities.

Daniel Taub, a Diplomat

Daniel Taub, the Israel ambassador to Britain, has helped foster relationship and trade between Israel and the United Kingdom. In a statement from the Israel embassy in the UK, Taub was set to resign after serving as Israel ambassador to Britain for four years.

Since Taub was appointed the ambassador four years ago, trade between the two countries has doubled. In addition, there have been significant positive changes that have been witnessed in business, education and cultural links between the two nations.

According to Sajid Javid the British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, and skills, the total trade between the two nations has entered what he termed as the golden era. This is so because Israeli businesses set ups operations in the UK have grown to over 300.

Daniel Taub is a British citizen by birth having been born in the UK in 1962. He was appointed the Israeli ambassador to the UK in 2011. Daniel Taub has also been a peace negotiator and once traveled to Northern Ireland together with a Palestinian counterpart for a peace bench-marking mission.

Daniel Taub has been in the forefront in championing the rights of the Israeli nationals living in the UK. There have been a series of anti-Israeli views and campaigns by student unions and British MP’S. In recent years one of the largest Britain student union voted to adopt a boycott of Israel.

In an interview with the Jewish Chronicle, Taub condemned such acts and went ahead to warn the college administrators that they should allow those who have a contrary opinion to the anti-Israel sentiments freedom of expression without fear or intimidation.

He worked different little jobs as a waiter and a porter while he acquired his first higher education degree at the London School of Economics. He wanted to work in finance, so after he graduated, George Soros started looking for a job.

It took writing letters to all the leading banks in London till he was invited to an entry-level position. This job was his first real experience in the world of finance and showed George that he had chosen the right career.In the 50s he moved to the United States where he started working as an arbitrage trader and later as an analyst. He never gave up even though it wasn’t the easiest of career paths to follow and eventually climbed the ladder becoming a vice president and investment fund manager. This job allowed Soros to start his foundation. The Soros Fund Management was born in the early 70s and is still in business.A career in finance allowed George Soros to start his philanthropy.

Coming from a simple background, he valued education first and foremost. He donated money to the countries in the former Soviet Union to help them create world class universities.One of them is the Riga Graduate School of Law and the Baltic Republic of Latvia. Soros also contributed to set up the Central European University in Budapest. He donated money so black students could attend university in Cape Town during the apartheid in South Africa.His efforts to promote education also go hand in hand with his support of equality, democracy, LGBTI and women’s rights. George Soros supports a democratic and free society that upholds equal and universal human rights. His philanthropy is a testament to these efforts.
